Christmas is upon us, which means that so is Black Friday. Actually, the Christmas season was upon us even before Halloween.
All the retail stores started decorating early, so we wouldn’t forget it was coming. Just in case we stopped watching television, stopped reading the newspapers, and of course, God forbid we turned off our smart phones, so the barrage off emails wouldn’t reach us.
Then there were the television commercials, and emails that announced that the Black Friday Sales, traditionally celebrated the day after Thanksgiving, have been supplanted by the pre-pre-Black Friday Sales.
It’s becoming very confusing to me, and maybe to all the consumers out there. Does this mean that they won’t have Black Friday after Thanksgiving? That the sales now, are better than on the actual Black Friday?
Should we believe them? Should we buy everything now, or wait? Will the merchandise we buy now on sale, will it be offered on the actual Black Friday? If so, will the prices be the same, or better?
If they are better, can we get a price adjustment? If not, can we exchange them, and then can we re-buy what we bought at the new lower price?
If what we buy now on the pre-pre-Black Friday sales, and now there are better products being sold at discount. Will the stores make a fair exchange for the same product, maybe a better version?
I guess, maybe this is why so many people started to shop online. But even this started to get complicated.
If you bought your pre-Black Friday sales from a brick-and-mortar store? Will the same rules apply, as if you visited the store?
What if you purchased through an online store? How can you finally get that gift at the lowest price, or a better version?
You can see the problems this is creating all over America, and maybe the world. People have to have a clear directive as to what all this means.
Otherwise, how can we truly enjoy the Christmas spirit.
